Minister Dao Ngoc Dung received the Chairman of the International Trade Committee of the European Parliament

(LĐXH)- On the afternoon of January 17, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), Minister Dao Ngoc Dung had a reception and working session with Mr. Bernd Lange, Chairman of the International Trade Committee of the European Parliament.
The meeting aimed to discuss the implementation of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), especially the progress of implementing international labor commitments in the Agreement.
At the meeting, Mr. Bernd Lange said that the cooperative relationship between the EU and Vietnam in recent times has been very impressive with the potential and ability of the two sides to cooperate. He affirmed that Vietnam is one of Europe's reliable partners.
In the near future, Mr. Bernd Lange hopes that the leadership of the MoLISA will ask units under the Ministry to coordinate with the European Union Embassy in Vietnam to build and complete documents for the two projects "Decent Employment" and "High-quality human resource training".
Responding to Mr. Bernd Lange, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung happily said that in the context of many changes in the world, Vietnam's economic growth reached a growth rate of 5.05% in 2023. In particular, food is guaranteed, the labour market is maintained stable and gasoline is guaranteed…
In particular, at the end of November 2023, Vietnam issued a social security policy until 2030, vision 2045 to meet the requirements of national construction and defense in the new period with many innovations and breakthrough.
"Vietnam will move from a country aiming at security and stability to stability and development. Social policy will gradually shift from ensuring the welfare of the difficult and vulnerable people to implement social welfare, thereby expanding the beneficiaries of the general development achievements of society" - the Minister emphasized.
Along with that, Vietnam has set a goal that by 2030 it will become a pioneer country in building satisfactory and sustainable social security and employment policies. This is consistent with chapter 13 of the EVFTA, in which 3 breakthrough issues are all directly related to workers.
Regarding the two issues under EVFTA, especially the chapter on Trade and Sustainable Development of the Agreement, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung emphasized that Vietnam always shows its spirit of effort and perseverance to promote and implement international labour commitments in the Agreement./.
