(LĐXH)- On behalf of the Government and the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated and praised the entire sector of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs for its efforts and important achievements in the past "challenging" year.
The Deputy Prime Minister shared that in 2023, production chain disruptions, order declines, conflicts and instability in food security and energy security have been causing dual impacts on the global economy.
This makes the recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic slow, and the situation of layoffs and job reductions of workers continues to prolong.
Faced with that situation, from the leadership and direction of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, the efforts of ministries, branches and the entire people, Vietnam has achieved encouraging results.
Particularly in the social sector, Vietnam is an internationally recognized bright spot in sustainable poverty reduction and has risen many places in the rankings of countries participating in social development assessment indices.
In particular, the Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized the work of summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on social policy.
Through the Ministry's advisory work, the Party Central Committee has continued to issue Resolution No. 42-NQ/TW on continuing to innovate and improve the quality of social policies, meeting the requirements of the cause of construction and preservation of national defense in the new period.
"This is a huge step forward, including the important role of the Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs sector" - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha noted.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister assessed that last year, the labour market also recorded a recovery, effectively resolving security issues for workers laid off, unemployed, etc., positively contributing to overcoming the consequences caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Regarding work orientation for 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha proposed that the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs continue to advise the Government to issue an action program to implement Resolution No. 42-NQ/TW.
Regarding the labour market, the Deputy Prime Minister noted the need to pay attention to labour supply and demand and soon deploy a job exchange floor./.
