Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hoi attends the G7 Ministerial meeting on “Inclusion and Disability”

(LĐXH)- On October 14, the Delegation of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hoi, Vice Chairman of the National Committee for People with Disabilities of Vietnam, attended the G7 Ministerial meeting on “Inclusion and Disability” in Italy (from October 14, 2024 to October 16, 2024).
The G7 Ministerial meeting on “Inclusion and Disability” has historical significance. For the first time, Italy has proposed an initiative to promote the issue of people with disabilities in the G7 Agenda.
This will be an opportunity to share with the G7 and relevant agencies and organizations about strategies and commitments to people with disabilities to combat discrimination and ensure full participation in civil, social, and political life for all.
In addition to the G7 Ministers, the host country Italy also invited Ministers from 4 other countries including Chile, Kenya, Tunisia, and Vietnam; the European Commission (EC), the International Development Association (IDA), and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) also attended these meetings.
Italian Minister in charge of People with Disabilities, Ms. Alessandra Locatelli, highly appreciated Vietnam as a country with many outstanding achievements in promoting and protecting the rights and benefits of people with disabilities, having many similarities with Italy in this field and will have shares to contribute to the success of the Meeting.
At the conference, the G7 Ministers will focus on discussing many topics related to people with disabilities such as: Inclusion is a priority on the agenda of countries; universal access and accessibility, independent living, inclusive employment, service availability, emergency prevention and management; ensuring full participation in civil, social, and political life for all; Artificial intelligence; Sports and services for all. Closing the session of the Conference is expected to adopt a Ministerial Declaration, known as the Solfagnano Charter./.
