Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha receives Vice President of Kinderhilfe Hyvong Vietnam
(LĐXH)- On May 18, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha had a meeting and worked with Mr. Christoph Kunz, Vice President of Kinderhilfe Hyvong Vietnam (Kinderhilfe).
Speaking here, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha expressed her respect and recognition of Kinderhilfe's affection that has accompanied disadvantaged children in Vietnam for nearly 50 years, since the first days after liberate the South and reunify the country.
Deputy Minister Ha shared that over the years, the protection and care of children in Vietnam has been comprehensively promoted, especially such as building a safe living environment for children, protecting children from epidemics, protecting children from abuse and violence, mobilize resources for children with special circumstances, etc.
In 2022, the whole country has 57% of communes, wards and towns meeting the standards suitable for children and the proportion of children with special circumstances in the total child population has decreased to 6.8%.
Up to now, Vietnam is providing monthly social allowance for over 6,000 children under 16 years old who have no source of nourishment, as well as more than 137 thousand children under 3 years old belonging to poor and near-poor households.
The country has established 149 child care facilities and 102 general child care facilities.
Among those results were the significant contributions of Kinderhilfe, as well as the personal contributions of President Ingrid Sperling and Vice President Christoph Kunz.
The Deputy Minister affirmed: “The Kinderhilfe has successfully completed its mission in supporting disadvantaged children across the country. In particular, Kinderhilfe is not only a partner but also a close friend of Vietnam".
Kinderhilfe Vice President Christoph Kunz expressed his gratitude and thanks to the Government and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs during the nearly 50 years of cooperation.
In addition, Vice President of Kinderhilfe also said: “This is a great moment for the organization to see that Vietnam has been gradually developing comprehensively, especially in child care and protectionm across the country”.
On this occasion, both sides expressed their wish to continue cooperation in the future in child protection and care sector./.
