Vietnam - Cambodia promote cooperation in labour and vocational training
(LĐXH)- The Vietnam - Cambodia Labour Ministers' Conference took place in Hanoi on April 5. Vietnam's Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) Dao Ngoc Dung and the Minister of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia Ith Samheng co-chaired the event.
The Minister also affirmed that the cooperation between the MoLISA and the Cambodian Ministry of of Labour and Vocational Training continued to be focused, developed in depth and breadth and achieved many progressive results.
Since the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in labour between the two Ministries signed in March 2017, both have strengthened the management of Cambodian labour in Vietnam as well as Vietnamese labour in Cambodia.
That contributes to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of workers of the two countries, especially in the context of the recent COVID-19 pandemic.
In vocational education sector, the two countries jointly promote cooperative activities and support each other in both bilateral and multilateral cooperation with many joint projects within the frameworks of ASEAN and the Mekong sub-region, cooperation Cambodia - Laos - Myanmar - Vietnam and Thailand on labour and on international forums to which the two countries are members.
Speaking at the conference, Minister Ith Samheng highly appreciated the good cooperation relationship between the two Ministries.
He noted the importance of skills sharing, as well as annual meetings and shared visits between the two sides.
At the meeting, the two Ministers agreed and emphasized the importance of early implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on labour cooperation between the MoLISA and the Cambodian Ministry Labour and Vocational Training for the period 2022-2027.
This will further expand and deepen the cooperation relationship between the two Ministries in labour and vocational training, thereby bringing practical benefits to the two peoples.
Within the framework of the Conference, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and Minister Ith Samheng signed the Action Plan and Joint Statement between the two Ministries./.
