Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan emphasized that over nearly 50 years, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Greece have become increasingly substantive and effective.
In particular, cooperation in the labour migration has practical significance, bringing great benefits to the two countries.
In order to have a legal framework for recruiting and sending Vietnamese workers to work in Greece, as well as protecting their legitimate rights and interests during their time working in Greece, it is necessary to negotiate and sign a bilateral agreement between the two countries in this field.
“Recently, MoLIA received a draft MOU on cooperation in migration and labor mobility from the Greek Ministry of Immigration and Asylum. We welcome and appreciate the proposal from the Greek side.
To complete the content of the MOU, in accordance with the laws of the two countries, and submit it to the competent authority for approval and signing, the two Ministries need to discuss and agree on the basic contents of the MOU. With the efforts and endeavors of both sides, the MOU on labour cooperation between Vietnam and Greece will soon be signed", he said.
At the event, Mr. Patroklos Georgiadis hoped that in the coming time, Greece could receive many quality workers from Vietnam. Thereby, helping Greece supplement its human resources in the context of an aging population.
“To do that, it is necessary to quickly agree and sign a legal document on the labour sector between the two agencies. Thereby, it will help the Greek side increase the labour market, and at the same time further promote the cooperative relationship between MoLISA and the Greek Ministry of Immigration and Asylum", Mr. Patroklos Georgiadis emphasized./.
