More than 1.5 million of COVID-19 infected employees to enjoy sickness benefits
(LĐXH)- According to VSS’ statistics, at the end of April 2022, the entire industry has paid to more than 1.45 million of COVID-19 infected people enjoying sickness benefits with the sum of VND 1,945 billion. Since 2021 till now, VSS has paid sickness benefits to more than 1.5 million of COVID-19 infected people.
Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2022, the number of turns enjoying this benefits has increased 124% and payment has increased nearly 300% over the same period of 2021; the average sickness benefit for covid-19 infected person is more than VND 1.5 million ; the average time is 8.5 days.
VSS has received paper records on settling sickness benefits to COVID-19 infected people under regulation on Cirular No. 56/2017/TT-BYT dated on Dec 29th 2017 of Ministry of Health.
Settling obstacles on social insurance enjoyment record of COVID-19 infected employees who are treated at home, on Mar. 2nd 2022, MOH submmitted the statement No 279/TTr-BYT to PM on patenting leave certificates for COVID-19 infected employees to enjoy social security benefits and competent authority examines and settles.
VSS sent official letter No 749/BHXH/CSXH dated on Mar 23rd 2022 on guiding Director of provincial social security office to arrange human resource, prepare expenditure, administative reform, IT application to receive and settle timely, exactly, adequately COVID-19 infected employees with eligible record under regulation at clause 1,2 Article 100 of Social Insurance Law 2014; clause 1, 2 Article 21 of MOH’s Circular 56/2017/TT-BYT.
In the next time, competent authorities issue new regulation on dossier on sickness benefits settlement to COVID-19 infected employees, VSS shall immediately receive and settle sickness regime to employees according to this new regulation.
