MoLISA launched fundraising to support central provinces

(LĐXH)- On October 19, 2020, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) held a fundraising ceremony to support people in areas damaged by rain and flood in the central provinces.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung attended and chaired the event. Deputy Ministers Le Tan Dung, Nguyen Thi Ha, Le Van Thanh, Nguyen Ba Hoan also attended the launching ceremony.
Responding to the call of the General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung called on all officers, civil servants, employees under MoLISA joining hands to donate, support at least 01 day salary to help people in the central region. 
According to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung: “This is a very meaningful job, demonstrating the noble gesture, continuing to promote the precious tradition of the Vietnamese people”.
Minister added that the MoLISA coordinated with the Ministry of Finance to submit to the Prime Minister the provision of 4,000 tons of rice to the flood affected people. Currently, the agencies are urgently bringing rice and food to people and people in flood areas.
Right at the launching ceremony, the MoLISA raised VND 350 million. This amount will be promptly transferred to the people of central Vietnam as soon as possible.
In recent days, torrential rains have had serious consequences in some central provinces, including Thua Thiên-Huê, Quang Tri, Quang Binh and Hà Tinh. The balance sheet established at 06:00 on October 19 is 90 dead, 34 missing, according to the National Steering Committee for the Prevention and Fight against Natural Disasters
In particular, in the commune of Phong Xuân, district of Phong Dien, province of Thua Thiên-Huê, landslides buried 17 workers at the Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant and 13 officers and soldiers who were part of a team of rescue composed of 21 members set up on October 12 to rescue them. On October 18 twenty-two soldiers and military officials went missing after a landslide engulfed their base in a mountainous region of Quang Tri province./.
