Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha receives Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Maldives

(LĐXH)- On March 11, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha had a meeting with Mr. Mohamed Jinah, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Maldives. Attending the meeting were leaders of the Department of International Cooperation, Department of Overseas Labour.
Sharing with the Ambassador, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha said that in the past year, facing the COVID-19 pandemic, the MoLISA has made efforts to support people and workers to maintain their lives.
The Deputy Minister added that in the next 5 years period (2021 - 2025), the MoLISA will prioritize to implement 5 tasks.
Firstly, continue to develop labour market with the quality of human resources to meet the rapid and sustainable development and competitiveness of the economy.
Secondly, develop a comprehensive social security system that covers the entire population to basically meet people's needs, leaving no one behind.
Thirdly, develope vocational training associated with high-quality labour, meeting international occupational standards.
Fourthly, develop social security, social welfare; support the poor, the elderly, children and women. In which, focus on implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the 2021-2030 period and the National Action Program for Children in the 2021-2030 period.
Fifthly, promote to send Vietnamese people to work abroad, maintain cooperation with traditional labour and expand cooperation with other markets, including the Republic of Maldives.
Thanks to the welcome of the MoLISA, Mr. Mohamed Jinah emphasized that the priorities of the Ministry have many similarities with Maldives such as gender equality, vocational training, ensuring social security...
Mr. Mohamed Jinah shared that in recent years, Maldives has become an attractive island country for tourism, which promises to bring opportunities for future cooperation with Vietnam.
Maldives always creates favorable conditions for foreign workers to come and work, therefore, in addition to the traditional market, Maldives wishes to expand cooperation with other Southeast Asian countries such as the Philippines and Vietnam, especially in tourism and construction.
Ambassador Mohamed Jinah said that he will keep in touch with the MoLISA and wished that cooperation between the two sides will be effective in the near future./.
