Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan: Bac Lieu needs to accelerate support for COVID-19-hit people
(LĐXH)- At the meeting with the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province on November 1, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) Nguyen Ba Hoan suggested that the province should continue to immediately support people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan requested that in the coming time, Bac Lieu province should continue to support the approved number of subjects, especially accelerate the implementation of support for pregnant women and children.
“Continue to review the subjects covered by the Government's Resolutions on supporting workers and employers facing difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. At the same time, speed up the implementation of policies to support employees at enterprises affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.
For the approved number of applications, it is necessary to immediately provide support so that people do not have to wait any longer”, he emphasized.
He added: “The province needs to have a job solution for the number of workers returning from epidemic areas. Besides, it is necessary to connect with localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai... to bring workers back to work; as well as connect with labour export enterprises to recruit, train and send to work abroad for those in need”.
Ms. Le Thanh Giang - Director of the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Bac Lieu province said that the province has reduced the insurance premiums for occupational accidents and diseases for 530 businesses, equivalent to 16,935 employees with a total amount of over 1.6 billion.
In addition, the province has provided support for 115 workers who have suspended their labour contracts or taken unpaid leave with a total amount of over VND 461 million.
The province supports 325 children and people who are being treated and isolated for COVID-19 with the amount of 431 million VND; support 45 art officials and 5 tour guides with the amount of 185 million VND.
In addition, it also received 636,970 tons of rice from the General Department of National Reserve and distributed to 13,596 social protection beneficiaries and disadvantaged families in the province./.
