Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh receives Director of Better Work

(LĐXH)- On May 16th, at the Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA)’s Head office, Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh had a cordial meeting with Mr. Dan Rees, Director of Better Work. Ms. Ingrid Christensen, Director of ILO Vietnam; Director of Better Work Vietnam; leaders from the relating units under the MoLISA attended the meeting.
At the event, Deputy Minister Le Văn Thanh welcomed Mr. Dan Rees, Director of Better Work and Ms. Ingrid Christensen, Director of ILO Vietnam. The Deputy Minister said that, recently, MoLISA has cooperated closely with Better Work Vietnam and received the support from Better Work team.
He hoped that the two sides would continue cooperating better and more long-lasting.
Director of ILO Vietnam Ingrid Christensen thanked Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh for the warm welcome. She also highly appreciated the direction of the Deputy Minister to the Better Work programme in recent years, especially in the textile sector. This is an important sector in Vietnam. 
The two sides also shared the strategy of the Better Work Programme for the period 2023 – 2027, as well as the two sides would find out the measures to the strategy can spread and replicate the meaningful effects of the programme in the forthcoming time.
Mr. Dan Rees thanked MoLISA for the close partner relationships and the support for the programmes in recent years, especially, during 2 years under the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Director of Better Work expressed his impress with the close cooperation between MoLISA and Better work Vietnam.
In the forthcoming time, he hopes that the Better Work programme can be developed and operated with a larger scale and wider effect.
The Programme will promote the tripartite partnership between the countries, as well as implement the measure to renew the method of deploying the programme.
Sharing with the Director of Better Work, Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh said that, during 2 years, the COVID – 19 pandemic has seriously impacted the world, including Vietnam.
He also emphasized that Vietnam has implemented very drastic response measures, in which the top priority is to ensure the health and safety of the people. In addition, the Government also ensures social security with policies to support people, employees and employers facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the close cooperation of Better Work and ILO with Vietnam. Recently, with the support of Better Work, the conditions and standards of the Vietnamese enterprises have been increasingly adapted with the international standards, helping the product made in Vietnam can export favourably to the global market.
Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh said that in the coming time, the two sides should work together more closely to improve the quality of goods and the reputation of Vietnam. Moreover, the two sides need to study to expand the scale of cooperation in other industries such as seafood, wood processing, etc.
He hoped that the MoLISA and Better Work would cooperate more closely in the period 2023-2027 so that the quality of goods and the prestige of Vietnamese goods would be improved in the global market./.
